A supermarket deodorant aisle is replete with cursory purchasing decisions — consumers are motivated by yellow ticket specials, quickly scanning front of pack before adding a deodorant to their cart.
Norsca Botanicals was a daring circuit breaker in this space — the ethos of luxury fragrance houses in an aluminium can. Partnering with fragrance powerhouse Givaudan to design Australian botanical inspired scents, this was an exciting change of pace for heritage brand Norsca. Simplicity was key here (a nod to the product’s no nasties formula), with a palette of muted, chic colours and beautifully delicate type, leaning far away from the clinical stuffiness of its competitors. Within a year, Norsca Botanicals increased its brand profit to target by 28%, with the range achieving $4 million in sales, despite being in a saturated and challenging market segment.
